Thank you Toronto Libraries

During 2017 we re-discovered the Toronto Public Library. So many complain about this [expense] investment in literacy. Nicole and I have had the pleasure to meet incredible staff at the Runnymede and Swansea libraries.  We attended a number of Toddlers classes that spark imagination and reading appreciation.  We were introduced to the puppets from FOLKMANIS. On every visit the library is a bustling center of activity, with internet users and music buffs sorting CD's.  I was especially impressed with the number of LAPTOPs that were in use, accessing the WIFI on location. Thank you to the staff and I look forward to the continuation of our journey to reading. Do you have a great experience story you would like to share?

WE Bought a small house

Yes  We bought another house. Well a doll house, a STEP 2 Cottage. It fits inside our condo...   right in the Living Room. The cottage doll house / play house has been an absolute delight. Well made, slides well on the hardwood floors.  Has windows and openings on all sides for interaction The STEP 2 Products are well made and durable. Wash well. Vendor in Toronto is Toys R US. And then the wheel fell off.....

The time for a baby carriage is almost past...  Nicole is near her 2nd bday. We do need a stroller, for those times when walking and resting go hand in hand, especially at Sherway Gardens.  We have a Quinny that collapses into a carry on bag for plane flights;  Delightfully, used all last summer in Europe. Stewardess' stowed away and returned the carrier with ease. Then this happened; THE front left wheel escaped. Fell Off ( HOW)  ..and was lost at the Vaughan Mills Mall.  We searched high and low retracing our steps to no avail.   We now had a 3 wheeler.   I cannot fathom how the wheel with pin (shaft) escaped from under the carriage. We contacted Quinny on Twitter! The staff at Quinny responded within 24 hours;   First Rate. Here's the update.  We procured a second Quinny.  We were so delighted with the first that the modest investment in a second for a few more years use is worthwhile. The adventures of Dave and Nikki

I stay home looking after my daughter. Her Mom is back at work; I am home with Nikki. These are our stories about staying home and keeping busy, all while living in a condo. Almost a year has passed. Our adventure this week was the purchase of an IKEA easel.  (White Board on One side and Chalk on the other)  Incredible!   We ditched a plant stand and installed the easel.  Doggie bed fits underneath.  Nikki is occupied and I get to have her beside me while I return calls, write posts and use my computers.   Big Hat tip to IKEA for design and cost.   What are your hacks to work at home?
